mARRAKECH

This is a city far more ancient than most. I saw a photo taken from above and was struck by the way square and rectangular dwellings moved like swelling waves along the curves of the landscape; I also thought about the layers of time that must be underneath the surface buildings and wanted to see through to buildings long gone, the imprints of which must be hidden underneath, layer after layer.
